MEN AND WOMEN! WE NEED YOU!!
Do you have a few hours each month to spare? Would you like to be involved in the day to day running of CCT? Have you considered becoming a volunteer and helping CCT to continue running smoothly?
If the answer is yes then read on. If the answer is no, well read on anyway. There might just be something here that will help you change your mind!
There are numerous jobs that need to be done on a daily basis basis at CCT. These jobs take a long time and can divert Vedra and Gwen from the important task of caring for your animals. Vedra and Gwen also like to sleep sometimes!
These are some of the jobs that need doing -
- mucking out the patients and the boarders
- feeding and watering the animals (I guarantee hearing 50+ guineas all squeeking for food is wonderful
- making up clean hay boxes
- vacuuming the clinic and waiting room
- answering the telephone (if you have problems getting through this may be due to Vedra and Gwen being busy elsewhere)
- shampooing guineas, either patients or boarders
- walking the resident dogs
- assisting with syringe feeds
- secretarial work
- contributing to the newsletter
- folding and posting the newsletter
- general maintenance work
Volunteers are asked to commit to helping on a particular day each month ie the first Sunday but extra days are always appreciated. People who would like to work in the evenings or at night are wellcome. You will be asked to help with whatever tasks need doing. We cannot guarantee what these tasks will definitely be until you arrive.
Don't let living at a distance put you off. Volunteers come from all over the country and even Europe. It really is great fun helping at CCT. It's wonderful to know that you are helping CCT to continue helping it's patients.
So come on, give it a go. I promise you will never forget being squeaked at by a multitude of hungry guineas!
